Balmoral, December 1921: the IRA enter a trap
In December 1921, a group of Belfast IRA men, desperately short of weapons, embarked on a raid to acquire rifles and ammunition. IRA leaders knew that the British Army were forewarned and would be waiting to capture the raiders, but the raid still went ahead.
